Gawker breaks Bitcoin news, misses obvious joke

bitcoin-stockGawker posted today that a much-hailed partnership between two of the most prominent players in Bitcoin, Mt. Gox and CoinLab, has devolved into a nasty $75 million lawsuit, which appears to be by far the biggest Bitcoin-related lawsuit ever.

That’s apparently 75 million in real US dollars, not in Bitcoins.

If even these two big Bitcoin promoters don’t want to be paid in Bs…why should I?  Of course, it’s their lawyers who want actual cash money, but, same question.

The other, less obvious joke, is Mt. Gox itself.  We all remember that it used to be the Magic the Gathering Online Exchange (MTGOX), right?  How is this not straight out of a Charles Stross book?

Boy, I wish I knew a famous MtG artist who could paint a card for this…maybe The WINKELEVII ?!?!?

  1. Hey there! Do you know if they make any plugins to protect against hackers?
I’m kinda paranoid about losing everything I’ve worked hard on.
    Any tips?
