But was the wi-fi ever really up?
I was impressed to read about the Superdome’s plans to support open public wi-fi for the fans attending the Superbowl, including the math: for 70,000 people in attendance they planned for 30,000 internet connections. I think that’s low, but maybe I’m biased.
There are three key takeaways from this:
1. Multitasking is the new normal. Homo sapiens has started to diverge into a separate species, homo smartphones.
2. The ability to connect to the interwebs is quickly becoming an expected thing, like parking spaces and water fountains.
3. But at least in the US, demand still exceeds supply.
